Child Birth
This class has brought me to understand and remember the experience that I have in the birth of my first child. I am a mother of two a girl and boy and both experience was something total difference. I remember every day the wonder feeling that I was think and experience during the hold experience. My daughter came two month early. I do not know what cause me to start this action that day. I could feel her moving and turning around all day but I did not know what was going on only that it was not time. My husband was at work and I walk over to my sister to keep for being at home along. At that time we did not have insurance and I have not got prenatal care. Because at that time the care was and check up to get pregnant test and then set and appointment for check up later I have made an appointment. But it was later that month because I know I had the time. But back then we had a lot of mid wife care and the doctor at the client was mid-wife doctors. The many state was able to use certify nurse as midwife in natural child birth. I started to have contraction about 6 that evening and did not want to go to the hospital to soon so I did not tell anyone until later that night. But the pain stated to come so fast that we call my husband for work and by the time he got home I had drop and my water had broke. So out of fear I went to the hospital.
The ride to the hospital was the long ride that I can remember, because I when to one hospital I did not have insurance they turn me away and I have to go to another hospital on the other side of the city. We speed to the other hospital on the other side of town but by the time we go their baby head was coming. I could feed her head pushing out and at the ER they took me up to the deliver the doctor could see her head. It was a fast deliver and she only weight 3 lbs and 5oz. They rush her out and put her in ICU because she was so small.
I remember the event of the experience because of the care and feeling that I wanted to know if she was ok. I did not have the pre care and only with a midwife client and not a regular doctor. This is one experience that has changed me. My daughter was born it 1972 and it health strong and bright but at birth she was so tiny I have to hold her in on a pillow. Yet in the early 1970 and there was a direct movement to home deliver and midwife in fact my sister had two home deliver at that time. One was plan in the past and one what around the event and timing of the birth she was not able to get out because of high water level in her house.
Many religious group still believer in home deliver and child birth. But the vast majority of women in the U. S. today give birth in hospital attended by obstetrician. In developing nations midwives are routinely tasked with bringing new life into the world Not so in the U. S. where delivery is largely preside over by obstetricians. According to Time Health& Family the study find that midwives are getting busier delivering 8.1% of country’s babies in 2009 Rochman 2012.
In this experience has taught me that child birth is not to be taken lightly it is important to get care early and watch what you eat. New mother had to eat health, go to the doctor. The development of the baby depend not only on you be what go in your body as well. After my child was born I stop smoking and never smoke again. (Rochman, 2012)
